Webmechanix is a full service digital agency, focusing on building solutions that drive conversion, engagement, and conversation, While keeping a user centric approach backed by data and experience.

The Challenge

Being a multi faceted agency means having a lot of content and good information to share with the world. The old website contributed to choice paralysis, and information anxiety.

When a design to launch a new website was made we had to achieve:

Modern look, keeping with the worlds and ours advancements.
Cut down the fat, team unnecessary content.
Help users navigate through website.
Increase quality lead generation.

Role: Research analysis, Information Architecture, Wire frames

Team: Jr. Ux designer, art director, copy writer, project manager, dev team

PROCESS

We started with stakeholder and customer interviews and progressed to a heuristic audit of the website. Following by competitor analysis and an exercise of card sorting we are ready to synthesize all the data collected and begin constructing the new IA.

With the IA set, we moved to wire framing, assembling a number of pages based on flexible content modules that can be added, removed, and rearranged as needed. With the wire frames set, we moved onto graphically designing and developing the website.

The IA re-configuration objective.
Our goal is to help users find what they’re looking for as quickly and efficiently as possible. Research gave us several clear conclusions.
We reorganized and renamed.
Providing too much information causes choice paralysis. Overwhelmed users will give up and leave the site instead of finishing the journey.

We slimmed it down and sharpened the focus.
To improve the user journey, we:
• Eliminated child pages since they didn’t add any value.
• Condensed all work into a more sophisticated presentation.
• Consolidated one-paragraph pages into the proper pages.
